Chicken Biryani – The Easy Way

I would not be mistaken if I said that Biryani is everyone’s favourite!! But log on to net…and you see all these complicated recipes for Biryani. Well I found an easy recipe by the hit and trial method. Perfect for freshers in the world of culinary and the lazy day cooking.

Chicken Biryani (Serves 2)

Ingredients

Chicken Drumsticks 4 pieces (Washed and incisions made)

Curd 1 cup

Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tbsp

Lemon Juice of 1 lemon

Red Chilli Powder As per Taste

Salt As Per Taste

Everest Biryani Masala 1 tbsp ( If not available Garam Masala, Dhaniya Powder, And Cardamom 2, Brown cardamom 1, Cinnamon an inch and cloves 2 mixed together)

Rice 1 cup (Cooked till just done with a Tsp of Ghee, saffron strands, salt to taste, Cardamom 2, Cinnamon an inch and cloves 2 and 1 bay leaf)

Onion 1 Big chopped into thin long slices.

 

Marinade the chicken drumsticks in curd, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, salt, red chilli powder, Biryani masala for at least 2 hours. Take oil in a pan, add the sliced onions and sauté till nice and golden brown. Remove some for garnish and set aside. Add the marinated chicken to the remaining onion, and cook till the chicken is done. There should be a thick gravy when the chicken is done. Add the rice and give it a gentle mix. Voila!! Delicious but simple chicken biryani is ready. Garnish with the fried onion set aside and serve hot.
